You built a website. You created a few pieces of content. Congratulations, that is a real accomplishment. But now comes the question that separates websites that make money from websites that collect dust: how do you create enough quality content to become the go-to resource in your niche?

Years ago, you could get away with five thin pages and some backlinks. Those days are gone. In 2026, search engines reward sites with deep, valuable content that genuinely helps visitors. The good news is that creating that content is a learnable skill, and I have a system that makes it manageable even if you are building your business part-time.

The Five-by-Five Content Method

Here is my approach: create five pieces of content in five different content categories. That gives you 25 pieces of quality content, which is enough to establish your site as a serious resource in most niches. Pick five categories from the list below that resonate with your niche and your strengths.

Method 1: Target Your Best Keywords

Start with keyword research. Find out what your ideal visitors are actually typing into search engines, and write articles that directly target those phrases. Put yourself in the mind of the searcher. What are they looking for? What problems are they trying to solve? Write five articles, each targeting a specific keyword phrase that has decent search volume and realistic competition.

Method 2: Write Product Reviews

Product reviews are the backbone of affiliate marketing content. Find five products related to your niche and write honest, detailed reviews. The best reviews come from personal experience, but you can also create valuable review content by synthesizing information from multiple sources. Summarize what real users are saying, highlight pros and cons, and give your own assessment.

Method 3: Answer the Most Common Questions

Think about the five questions people most commonly ask about your topic. If you met someone at a coffee shop and they knew nothing about your niche, what would they ask first? Those questions are your content goldmine. Entire successful websites like WikiHow are built on nothing more than answering questions well.

Method 4: Share Your Most Helpful Tips

What are the five most useful tips you can offer someone in your niche? Think about your topic in the context of someone trying to accomplish something specific. If it is a fitness site, maybe your tips are about form, nutrition, and recovery. If it is a tech site, maybe they are about setup, troubleshooting, and optimization. Practical, actionable tips perform extremely well in search.

Method 5: Create Numbered Lists

List posts work because they appeal to how people consume information online. “Seven Best Places to Buy X.” “Top Five Mistakes Beginners Make.” “Ten Things You Need to Know Before You Start.” These formats are easy to scan, easy to share, and consistently generate traffic and backlinks.

Method 6: Mine Book Tables of Contents

Go to Amazon and find a book about your niche. Open the table of contents preview. Each chapter heading is a potential blog post topic. This is one of the fastest ways to generate a list of relevant content ideas that you know people care about, because someone wrote an entire book about them.

Method 7: Write How-To Tutorials

How-to content is one of the most consistently popular formats on the internet. Think of five things someone might need to do in your niche and write step-by-step tutorials. Be specific. Be thorough. Include screenshots or images where helpful. The more practical and detailed your tutorial, the more valuable it is.

Method 8: Curate the Best Content in Your Niche

Find the best articles, videos, and resources on important topics in your niche and create round-up posts. Summarize each resource in your own words, explain why it is valuable, and link to the original. These posts serve your readers and build relationships with other creators in your space. Once you publish, reach out and let those creators know you featured their work.

Method 9: Tell Personal Stories

If you have personal experience in your niche, share it. Personal stories create the highest reader engagement of any content type. People connect with stories in a way they never connect with generic information. Your unique experiences and perspective are content that no one else can replicate.

Method 10: Make Predictions About Your Niche

Where is your niche headed? What trends do you see? What changes are coming? Prediction posts can be incredibly engaging, especially if your predictions are bold or contrarian. And since they are predictions, it is perfectly fine to be wrong. The value is in the analysis and discussion, not in being a fortune teller.

Method 11: Summarize Great Videos

Find excellent YouTube videos in your niche, embed them on your site, and write detailed summaries. You are adding value by saving your reader time — they can read your summary to decide if the video is worth watching. This also makes your site more visually engaging and keeps visitors on the page longer.

Putting It All Together

Pick five of these eleven methods. Write five posts for each. That is 25 pieces of quality content that establish your website as a real resource. You do not have to write them all at once. Aim for two or three per week and you will have your 25 posts within two months. That is a foundation strong enough to start generating real traffic and real revenue.
