You start off the episode by ripping by youngest daughter’s soon to be alma mater that has a Longhorn insignia, but then you rave about Austin? #sbsw in the #atx – Seriously – how about a report on South by Southwest. A LNIM meet-up there with many some of the atx IM’rs would be epic.

On the issue discussed today…. I appreciate your voice of reason. I won’t hash it over again since I previously opined after the FA podcast, but there is a reason why some of these offers pay out $50+ a sale for a bottle of vitamins, and it’s not all good.

I actually had this thought last night – it seems to me the most stable online incomes come to people that are either very passionate, or are very good at scaling – and the former seems more do-able to me.

Someone with a passion for weight loss can make a living in that over-saturated niche from scratch starting today. Someone trying to develop 25 weight loss micro-niche sites is at the total mercy of Google, their offer, and their ability to scale – too many ifs to me. Thanks Mark!

I completely agree with what you say here — and I forgot all about the “man in front of the camera thing”. You are exactly right. Many people want to remain anonymous. Nice catch, man. Thanks for the kind words. Really appreciate the support.

I just listened to episode 51 on the commute today, great show and congratulations on reaching the 50+ milestone. I wanted to comment on the first segment of the show regarding Dave’s Facebook comment.

I think you were right on with your answer, you can, and maybe even should, have it both ways. It’s a smart idea for a business to diversify income streams and these two work well as you said for those of who are getting started in Internet marketing. Use Forever Affiliate type mini sites to develop income streams to get a quick(er) result and help fund larger Internet Business Mastery type passion based endeavors.

That is exactly what I am doing. As you know I am working on creating my first forever affiliate based sites, however I also have a longer term, passion based project in real estate marketing based on the “Pat Flynn model”. Like you I am not necessarily looking to quit the day job either, but I can say that creating affiliate mini sites, producing a podcast (I am on episode 11) and working a day job, can get a bit overwhelming at times, especially when you mix in family and life issues.

One could argue that Andrew’s Forever Affiliate sites could be a good answer to someone who wants to make an internet marketing income on the side while keeping their current employment. In addition, some people are not comfortable being the center of attention so mini sites and authority sites may be the answer to owning your own online business while staying behind the scenes.

I appreciate the insight you give especially from the perspective of a “working man” pursuing an online business, keep up the good work.

Tigue
